H-BC Elementary School Families:
This next week, February 22-26th is Celebrate Public Schools Week! I am so pleased to be a part of the Hills-Beaver Creek Public Elementary School!
Mid-Quarter- 3rd Quarter is ½ way completed on Wednesday, February 24th. 4th and 5th grade teachers will send mid-quarter reports home shortly after. Good time to check in with your child’s teacher to see how your child is progressing.

H-BC Elementary, in Person Learning Continues
Elementary Basketball Camp: The Camp, for 4 year olds through 3rd grade, continues this week Saturday, February 20 for those students who registered. We are limited to only students and coaches in the gymnasium.

The Minnesota Energy Assistance Program (EAP) can help
Too many low-income Minnesotans have to choose between paying their energy bill and other necessities - food, medicine and healthcare. Minnesota’s Energy Assistance Program offers eligible residents help to pay their energy bills so they do not have to choose between life’s necessities. Spread the word.
Energy Assistance Program (EAP) facts
§ Renters & homeowners are eligible.
§ Assets such as the home are not considered in determining eligibility.
§ Grants range from $300 to $1,600, based on household size, income, and fuel cost.
§ The average grant is about $550.
§ In addition to the initial grant, additional Crisis funds are available to:
- Help pay a past due bill or get an emergency fuel delivery.
- Help homeowners get their broken furnace repaired or replaced.
How to apply for EAP
§ Households contact their local EAP service provider to apply for EAP.
§ Households find their EAP provider:
- By calling 1-800-657-3710 & entering their zip code, or
- On this list of service providers by county or tribe at https://mn.gov/commerce/consumers/consumer-assistance/energy-assistance/eap-provider.jsp.
§ 29 local EAP service providers including Community Action Programs, counties, tribal governments and non-profits serve all areas of the state.
